We visited the Canaan Valley Ski Resort in 2022 for leaf peeping and the scenic chairlift ride. You do have to buy tickets for the chairlift but they are very reasonably priced. When were out on a multi day camping trip and had planned in some time for a visit. We went early in the morning stopping at a small gas station/cafe on the way in to grab snacks and lunch since the restaurants attached to the ski resort were not open yet.
