I made these cups for Cinco de Mayo dinner. These would be a great addition for a party dish or a side for taco Tuesday dinner. I loved how simple there were to make. You can make these a little ahead of time and allow them to sit in the fridge until you are ready. If you are planning on making in advance skip the cheese, toppings and guacamole for now. These should be added closer to the time of serving. Since this recipe is so easy and customizable you can layer the ingredients in almost any order and there are a ton of options for toppings for you to choose from.
I made my own guacamole and salsa since it was Cinco de Mayo. I have a go to recipe for guacamole but that was my first time making that salsa recipe. Feel free to make your own or use store bought. These cups are so forgiving either can work! Serve with chips preferably restaurant tortilla chips or scoops. The whole idea of the 7 Layer Dip Cups is to add all the ingredients to each cup in equal levels this should make 5-10 cups depending on how many layers you add and what size cups you use. I used 5.5oz plastic cups with lids which made these so easy to store, transport and clean up.
Thoughts- you can store these cups in a muffin tin to help keep them stable and easily movable either for storing them in the fridge or serving. If you want to make these easier to make and more presentable you can add the ingredients into individual plastic bags and pipe them into the cups.
If you’re like me you probably have some picky eaters in your life. Naturally they are all picky about different things. Another way to keep the individual cups but allow people to accommodate their diets for a dinner or party would be to leave the ingredients out in serving bowls and allow everyone to create their own ideal 7 Layer Dip Cup.
